American Sign Language

American Sign Language (ASL) is used most often by the deaf communities in the US. In this thorough introduction to ASL, you will learn to communicate basic vocabulary, the alphabet and simple phrases. You will also develop fingerspelling skills, learn about deaf culture, and play interactive games to make this a fun learning experience. 

Valerie is a certified interpreter with National Interpreter Certification at the Advanced (NIC-A) level, and she has been an Educational Interpreter and teacher of ASL for 27 years.

Conversational Spanish at the Carroll County Center in Berryville

Instructor: Linda Tamayo 

Are you traveling to a Spanish-speaking country? Do you need to understand Spanish for work? This entry-level class is for people with little or no experience with the Spanish language; this course covers topics such as numbers, friendly greetings, polite expressions, foods, places, the family, time, days of the week, money, colors, and more. To improve new skills, you will have the chance to interact with other students in real-life situations. 

Linda is Mexican American and speaks both English and Spanish fluently at home as well as in her work as the Operations Coordinator of the Carroll County Center in Berryville. She has many years of experience in translating and interpreting.

Dates: April 2 – May 7 (6 sessions) 
Time: 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.  
Cost: $85 (students will need to bring a notebook & pencil)
